Our quick picks
- Best for little ones Playa Ampolla, Playa del Portet
- Best for snorkelling Cala Portitxolet, Cala Llebeig
- Most beautiful Cala Llebeig, Playa del Portet
- Quietest Cala Llebeig

Cala Moraig
Breathtaking cliffs and crystal-clear water make this one worth the journey. It's the place to escape the crowds and enjoy the sea away from any buildings. The far left end is an unofficial nudist area, good to know!
Our tip
Go early. The beach is in shade from about 17:00, and the further away you park, the longer the walk back up the hill.

Cala Llebeig
A true hidden gem. It's not the easiest beach to reach, but if you want to switch off and have the place almost to yourself, this is it. Old fishermen's houses still stand by the water and give it a wonderfully authentic feel.
Our tip
Wear proper shoes for the steep, rocky path and pack your flip-flops in your bag.

Playa del Portet
Moraira's crown jewel, featured in many travel magazines. Soft sand and shallow turquoise water make it perfect for families. You'll find kayak and paddleboard hire at the far end (April to September, about €10–15 an hour) and three beach bars open all day.
Our tip
Go early: El Portet gets busy in summer and parking is very limited. Or stay in one of our villas close by and be first on the sand.

Cala Portitxolet
A small stony cove that few people know about, and a snorkeller's paradise with clear water and lots of marine life. It's reached by a long flight of steps, so we'd suggest it for adults rather than little ones. There are no facilities: that's the price of the peace and quiet.
Our tip
The rocks can be sharp, so bring a thick towel or a small mat if you're planning a nap.

Playa Ampolla
Moraira's most family-friendly beach, and its busiest. Soft sand, shallow water and a little stream where children can paddle safely, plus a playground, volleyball nets, showers, toilets, sunbed hire and the El Castillo beach bar. Parking is free.
Our tip
If you're staying all day, hire a couple of sunbeds: you'll have your own reserved spot, which makes a real difference in high season.

Playa Playetes
Half soft sand, half rocks: a great compromise if you have children but still want to snorkel. It's lesser known than Ampolla, so often quieter, with parking, showers, toilets and good restaurants nearby.
Our tip
Want more space? Head to the left side, past the sunbeds. Most people stay on the right.

Playa Andrago
A small pebble beach that's ideal for discovering local marine life, with parking and some quality restaurants nearby. Algas Bar, an iconic cocktail bar with some of the best views in Moraira, is right here.
Our tip
Take a walk along the little promenade into town: it has some of the most beautiful views in Moraira.
